Postcard Project

We're done being coy about it. Great parks, beautiful scenery, and people who make it worth staying. We asked a handful of local artists from The General to send us a piece — and turned them into postcards worth sending.

Nanaimo is awesome.

Sebastian Abboud

Nanaimo-based illustrator and designer, co-founder of Diver — a creative studio whose work has spanned Google, Adobe, Snapchat, and Canada Skateboard. Over 15 years his work has landed on everything from restaurant walls to large scale murals.

His postcard began as an early exploration for In the Forest — a group show inviting Vancouver Island artists to uncover the hidden stories and creatures living in our forests.

Asami Watanabe

A Japanese illustrator based in Nanaimo whose whimsical digital work draws inspiration from vintage glassware, old picture books, and film photography. Colourful, vibrant, and a little dream-like.

A boat ride to Protection Island. The twilight view from Maffeo Park. Two quiet Nanaimo moments, rendered in her signature warmth.

Sara Holmes

Nanaimo-based graphic designer and illustrator behind Wisterium — a sticker and pin business built around imagery that pauses the mind and invokes wonder.

One postcard recalls childhood sailing trips with her Dutch grandparents — summer vibrancy and the taste of salt. The other captures the ferry back from Gabriola at dusk, the sky turning deep blue, city lights shimmering on the water, Mt. Benson standing watch.

Jesse
Miller

Vancouver Island adventure lifestyle photographer whose work connects the outdoor world to movement and brands.

His driving ambition — sharing what it feels like to be in nature and pursue something worth chasing.
